FirstBank Reaffirms Commitment to Customer-Centered Services at “Voice of Customers” Forum in Kano
FirstBank of Nigeria has restated its commitment to delivering customer-focused banking services and improving client satisfaction during its “Voice of Customers” engagement held in Kano.
The event, themed “An Evening with the CEO,” brought together top business leaders, Islamic scholars, women groups, and non-profit organizations all united by their long-standing relationship with the bank.
In his remarks, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, expressed appreciation to customers for their loyalty and assured them of continued quality service delivery. He emphasized that customer feedback remains central to the bank’s operations and future innovations.
“We are here to listen, learn, and act.Your voices shape how we serve you,” Alebiosu told participants, noting that FirstBank maintains the highest presence in Kano with 19 branches, reflecting its strong connection to the state’s business community.
Responding to customer requests, the CEO revealed that plans are underway to introduce non-interest banking services, a move welcomed by attendees. Among those advocating for the initiative was renowned Islamic scholar and businessman Gwani Farouk Umar, a loyal FirstBank customer since 1992, who highlighted the growing demand for Islamic financing options.
Throughout the interactive session, customers freely expressed their concerns, shared suggestions, and received direct responses from the bank’s top management team.
The evening also featured a dinner reception, symbolizing FirstBank’s tradition of building relationships beyond transactions. Participants described the event as a refreshing opportunity for honest dialogue between the bank and its customers.
“This is what customer engagement should look like, listening, not lecturing” said one participant.
With its long-standing presence in Kano and ongoing innovations, FirstBank continues to strengthen its position as a customer-first institution, committed to meeting the diverse financial needs of Nigerians.
