The Kano State Government has renewed its pledge to people-focused governance by signing the Kano Mutual Accountability Framework (KanMAF) and the Education Emergency Response Plan with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described the pact as a fresh social contract built on transparency, accountability, and shared responsibility.
The two-year Education Response Plan aims to revive the state’s struggling education sector with support from donors, civil society, and the private sector.
UK Development Director Cynthia Rowe reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to Kano’s growth, promising continued support in education, health, agriculture, WASH, climate action, and economic development.
The signing was sealed with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new phase of cooperation.
