Abdulsamat Sanu Harun Idris is emerging as one of the Nigerian entrepreneurs taking local businesses beyond the country’s borders, with his Samado Juice brand expanding its operations into Saudi Arabia.
The company has established 56 outlets across Saudi Arabia, marking a significant milestone for the Nigerian-owned business and highlighting the potential of homegrown brands to compete in international markets.
Speaking on the expansion, Idris stressed the need to create easier pathways for Nigerian entrepreneurs seeking to establish and grow their businesses abroad.
He said improved access to international markets would enable Nigerian businesses to reach new customers, attract investment and create employment opportunities, particularly for young people.
Idris also called for stronger government policies and a more supportive business environment to encourage more entrepreneurs to take their businesses beyond Nigeria.
According to him, the benefits of international expansion go beyond business owners, as overseas operations can generate jobs, foster partnerships and open new commercial opportunities for Nigerians.
Business observers say Nigerian entrepreneurs with an international presence can contribute to economic development by connecting local businesses to global markets and showcasing the competitiveness of Nigerian enterprise.
Idris urged more Nigerian entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in international markets, noting that easier cross-border trade would give businesses greater room to expand and compete globally.
He also called on government agencies and other stakeholders to introduce policies that make international business expansion more accessible to Nigerian entrepreneurs.
He said the continued growth of Nigerian-owned businesses abroad could play an important role in strengthening the private sector, expanding Nigeria’s global business footprint and creating sustainable economic opportunities.
