The Executive Chairman of the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS), Dr. Zaid Abubakar, has officially handed over the leadership of the agency following the expiration of his tenure.
The handover ceremony took place on Thursday at the KIRS headquarters in Kano, where the Senior Executive Director, Compliance and Enforcement Group, Malam Muhammad Abba Aliyu, assumed leadership of the Service in an acting capacity pending further directives from the Kano State Government.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Kano State Government, the management and staff of KIRS for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure.
In his remarks, the Acting Executive Chairman, Malam Muhammad Abba Aliyu, thanked the management for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to ensure a seamless continuation of the agency’s operations.
He assured members of staff of his commitment to consolidating ongoing reforms, strengthening institutional stability and improving operational efficiency to enhance revenue administration in the state.
The ceremony underscored KIRS’ commitment to a smooth leadership transition, good governance and continuity in advancing effective tax administration in support of Kano State’s development agenda.
