Gaya Polytechnic has recorded a significant milestone in its establishment following the presentation of a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for its permanent site by the Kano State Government, bringing the institution closer to full operational take-off.
The certificate was formally presented to the Chairman of the Gaya Polytechnic Implementation Committee, Prof. Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, by the Kano State Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Hon. Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar Garko.
The development marks a major step towards securing the institution’s permanent site and creating the necessary foundation for further infrastructure development and the commencement of full academic operations.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, Prof. Kurawa commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his continued commitment and support towards the successful establishment and development of Gaya Polytechnic.
He described the presentation as a significant milestone in the realisation of the vision behind the institution, expressing optimism that securing the certificate would accelerate preparations for its full operational take-off at the permanent site.
Prof. Kurawa also acknowledged the contributions of Commissioner Garko and the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, commending them for their roles in facilitating the issuance and presentation of the certificate.
He noted that the development would strengthen ongoing efforts to establish Gaya Polytechnic as a fully operational institution dedicated to advancing technical education, developing skilled manpower and promoting socio-economic growth in Kano State.
The acquisition of the Certificate of Occupancy represents an important step in the institution’s establishment, providing greater legal security for its permanent site and supporting future development plans.
The milestone also underscores the Kano State Government’s efforts to expand access to educational opportunities and strengthen the state’s tertiary and technical education infrastructure.
