Troops Capture Suspected Terrorist Commanders Linked to Gen. Rabe’s Killing in Katsina

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, working in collaboration with local vigilantes, have arrested suspected commanders of a terrorist group allegedly linked to the kidnapping and killing of retired Major-General Abubakar Rabe in Katsina State.

The operation, conducted on September 20, reportedly resulted in the capture of several senior members of the group identified as “Kachalla Maha.”

Among those arrested was a suspect identified as Samagi, who is believed to be one of the group’s senior commanders.

Security sources said the suspects are believed to have played significant roles in the activities of the group, which has been accused of carrying out kidnappings, killings and other violent attacks across parts of the North-West.

The operation involved troops working alongside local vigilantes, whose support reportedly helped security personnel track and apprehend the suspects.

The arrests are expected to provide security agencies with valuable intelligence on the group’s leadership structure, operational methods, hideouts, supply networks and possible collaborators.

The suspects are expected to undergo further investigation to determine their individual roles in the group’s activities and establish whether they were connected to other attacks in Katsina State and neighbouring states.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the identities of the other suspects or the specific circumstances surrounding their arrests.
