A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Bichi, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains the most grassroots-oriented leader in Nigeria’s contemporary political history, citing the administration’s people-focused policies and direct engagement with citizens.

Speaking with journalists in Kano on Thursday, Bichi said President Tinubu has consistently demonstrated a rare commitment to listening to ordinary Nigerians and responding to their needs through impactful policies and programmes.

According to him, the President’s governance style reflects a deliberate effort to bridge the gap between the Federal Government and the grassroots, ensuring that government decisions are shaped by the realities facing everyday Nigerians.

“President Tinubu has shown through both words and actions that he is a leader who listens. His administration has prioritized inclusive governance by engaging directly with communities, traders, farmers and youth groups across the country. This is unprecedented,” Bichi said.

The APC stalwart commended the administration’s economic reforms, describing them as strategic measures aimed at stabilizing the economy while creating a more conducive environment for small and medium-sized enterprises to thrive.

He also applauded the government’s infrastructure drive, noting that ongoing investments in roads, rail and power projects are improving connectivity between rural communities and urban markets, thereby boosting economic activities.

On social welfare, Bichi said the Tinubu administration has expanded social intervention programmes designed to support vulnerable Nigerians and cushion the impact of economic challenges.

Highlighting the President’s commitment to food security, Bichi praised the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying it has transformed the agricultural sector through the rehabilitation of irrigation facilities and the expansion of irrigable farmlands across the country’s geopolitical zones.

He pointed to ongoing projects in the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin and other federal irrigation schemes as evidence of the administration’s determination to increase food production and reduce Nigeria’s dependence on food imports.

“The President has not only made promises; he is delivering. His responsiveness to feedback from the grassroots, town hall engagements and policy adjustments based on public concerns distinguish him from previous administrations,” he added.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Bichi urged APC members across Kano State and the country to intensify grassroots mobilization in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

He said a second term would provide the administration with the opportunity to consolidate its reforms and expand on what he described as its transformative achievements.

“Let us remain united and focused. We must rally behind President Tinubu and return him to office in 2027 so he can complete the good work he has started,” Bichi said.
