A personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has lost his life following an attack by suspected hoodlums during an empowerment programme in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident occurred on March 13, 2026, prompting the Kano State Police Command to launch an investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said the Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has commenced a thorough and discreet investigation into the attack.
According to the statement, the victim sustained critical injuries during the incident and was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Tudun Wada for medical attention. However, he was later confirmed dead by doctors.
The remains of the deceased officer have been deposited at the morgue of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
The Commissioner of Police assured residents that the Command is committed to ensuring that those behind the attack are tracked down and brought to justice.
He emphasized that the police will leave no stone unturned in the ongoing investigation and urged members of the public to assist security agencies with useful information that could aid the probe.
The Kano State Police Command also extended its condolences to the family of the deceased officer and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps over the tragic loss.
The Command appreciated the continued support and cooperation of the public in the fight against crime and assured that further updates will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
