The Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Dr. Hameem Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, has officially launched the distribution of farm produce Zakkat valued at ₦623,821,000 across the Dutse Emirate for the year 1447AH.
The flag-off ceremony took place in Miga District, which secured first position among districts in the emirate for its outstanding contribution to Zakkat during the recent rainy season. A total of 29,909 vulnerable individuals are expected to benefit from the Zakkat collected from across the emirate.
Speaking at the event, the Emir commended the people for their commitment and urged them to sustain the momentum by increasing their contributions. He emphasized that Zakkat remains one of the five pillars of Islam and plays a vital role in supporting the less privileged and promoting social harmony. The Emir also called on residents to continue upholding law and order within their communities.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Miga Local Government, Alhaji Bilya Dauda Garbau, expressed appreciation to the Emir of Dutse and the people of Miga for their dedication to ensuring the proper collection and distribution of Zakkat.
Beneficiaries of the initiative expressed gratitude to the Emir, the people of Miga, and especially local farmers whose contributions made the distribution possible.
According to statistics presented by the Sa’in Dutse, Dr. Muhammad Yunus Said, Miga District ranked first in Zakkat contributions for this year’s farming season, underscoring its strong commitment to community welfare and Islamic obligations.
