Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi of Jigawa State has approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Hamim Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, the Emir of Dutse, as the Amirul Hajj and leader of the state government delegation for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The approval was contained in a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State (SSG), Malam Bala Ibrahim.
In addition to the Amirul Hajj, the governor also approved the appointment of other members of the Amirul Hajj Team. They include Malam Umaru Nasarawa; Alhaji Kabiru Ali, Kachallan Dutse; a representative of the Emir of Gumel; and Imam Nura Salisu Abubakar, the Chief Imam of Kazaure Central Mosque.
According to the statement, the appointments were made in recognition of the appointees’ proven records of hard work, dedication, patriotism, integrity, and piety.
While congratulating the appointees, the SSG urged them to uphold these values in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the appointments reflect the confidence reposed in them by the state government and the people of Jigawa.
The statement further noted that the Amirul Hajj Team is expected to work closely with the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, as well as relevant state, federal, and international agencies, to ensure smooth, efficient, and successful Hajj operations.
All appointments take immediate effect.
