Jigawa Honors Late Emir of Dutse with Memorial Lecture, Commissions Digital Learning Centre

The Jigawa State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed, has organized the first memorial lecture and prayer in honor of the late Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, alongside the commissioning of a digital learning centre named after him.

The event took place in Tawankalta town, Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, and was attended by the Jigawa State Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Col. Muhammad Alhassan (Rtd). Other dignitaries included the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, and the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Dr. Hameem Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, son of the late emir.

Speaking at the lecture, close associates of the late emir, including the Makama of Kano and Sarkin Shanun Kano, described him as a progressive leader who devoted his life to the service of humanity.

In his remarks, the current Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, attributed his personal achievements to the moral upbringing and guidance he received from his father, whom he described as a royal father committed to the welfare of the people.

The Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, highlighted the late emir’s lifelong contributions to the development of both Islamic and Western education, urging residents to maintain peace and unity for the progress of the Dutse and Hadejia Emirates and Jigawa State as a whole.

In his welcome address, Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed explained that the memorial lecture was organized to immortalize the legacy of the late emir. The event concluded with the official commissioning of the Late Emir of Dutse Alhaji Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi Digital Learning Centre.
