By Editor INEC has set the window for party primaries including resolution of disputes from April 23rd to May 30th,2026,as part of the 2027 election timetable.
Political Parties must also submit their membership registers at least 21 days before their primaries,with a final deadline now extended to May 10th, 2026 7237.
After primaries,nomination forms for presidential and National Assembly candidates is in June 27 July 11, and campaigns start August 19th,leading to presidential/NASS polls on January 16th,2027.
Although,Opposition parties have complained that the schedule squeezes them,but INEC says it aligns with the new Electoral Act.
