The Kano State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by a group identified as the “Arewa APC Forum” alleging a withdrawal of support for the second-term ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the move as false and misleading.
In a statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Auwalu Abdullahi, the APC said the purported declaration did not emanate from any recognized structure within the party.
“The APC in Kano is aware of attempts by certain individuals and faceless groups to create confusion and disunity within the party,” Abdullahi stated.
“We wish to state categorically that this so-called forum is not known to the party structure and does not represent the views of APC members in Kano State.”
The party stressed that no constitutionally recognized organ of the APC in the state had taken any decision to withdraw support for President Tinubu, insisting that the Kano chapter remains loyal to the administration.
Abdullahi described the claim as “a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the party,” urging members and the public to disregard it entirely.
Reaffirming its position, the APC expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that his administration is committed to delivering good governance, economic reforms, and national development.
“The so-called signatory of the purported withdrawal is faceless and not a stakeholder of the party at any level in Kano,” the statement added.
Under the leadership of Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, the party reiterated its unity and unwavering support for the President’s vision, warning against attempts by mischief-makers to create unnecessary tension within its ranks.
