Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has disbursed a total of N334 million to 6,680 women across the state as part of his administration’s ongoing women empowerment programme.

Speaking at the disbursement ceremony in Kano, the governor said the initiative underscores his government’s commitment to reducing poverty, improving livelihoods, and fostering inclusive economic growth at the grassroots level.

He explained that each beneficiary receives a monthly stipend of N50,000, noting that the programme has been expanded from 5,200 to 6,680 beneficiaries, covering all 44 local government areas of the state.

Governor Yusuf described the scheme as a strategic intervention designed not only to provide financial support but also to strengthen households and stimulate economic activities within local communities.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to uplifting the living standards of our people and ensuring that no segment of society is left behind,” the governor stated.

He further noted that the programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is focused on achieving sustainable economic growth and social development across the country.
