The Kano State Police Command has decorated three senior officers with new ranks as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and professionalism within the force.
The decoration ceremony, held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, was led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

The officers elevated to higher ranks include Ibrahim A. Jauro, the outgoing Area Commander, Metro Kano, and Muazu Umar Dange, the outgoing Area Commander, Tudun Wada. Both were promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Also promoted was Saidu Gagiyo Dachia, who moved from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

Addressing the officers during the ceremony, CP Bakori congratulated them on their achievements, noting that such recognition comes through dedication, loyalty, integrity, and hard work.
He urged the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering effective and efficient policing services to the public.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, DCP Ibrahim A. Jauro expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and the Police Service Commission for approving the promotions. He assured that the officers would remain committed to discipline, professionalism, and excellence in the discharge of their duties.
The Police Commissioner also commended residents of Kano State for their continued support and cooperation, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to sustaining peace, security, and public safety across the state.
