Kano Govt Engages Market Leaders on Plan for Modern Dangwauro Trading Hub

The Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has intensified efforts to ease urban congestion and strengthen commercial infrastructure through strategic engagement with key market stakeholders.

Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar, spearheaded a high-level consultation with leaders of Yankaba Market, popularly known as the Vegetable Market, and Na’ibawa Yan Lemo.

The meeting is part of the state government’s broader plan to develop a modern, well-organized, and efficient market facility in Dangwauro.

Discussions centered on gathering input, concerns, and practical recommendations from traders and market executives to ensure the proposed market structure meets users’ needs. Key priorities highlighted included creating a more conducive business environment, improving market organization, and ensuring smoother daily operations for traders and customers.


Market leaders praised the government’s inclusive consultation process and expressed strong backing for the project. They also pledged their full cooperation to support its successful execution.

The initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to sustainable urban development, stronger economic activity, and improved livelihoods for traders across Kano State.
