The Kano State Police Command has distributed cheques worth ₦3,188,685.80 to beneficiaries under the Group Personnel Accident Insurance Scheme, reaffirming the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

The cheques were presented on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, who represented the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, during a brief ceremony at the command headquarters.

According to the command, the financial support was distributed to five next of kin and one police officer who benefited from the Group Personnel Accident Insurance Scheme. The initiative is designed to provide relief and assistance to officers and families affected by accidents, injuries, or the loss of loved ones in the line of duty.

Speaking during the presentation, Bakori said the intervention reflects the Inspector-General’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, well-being, and morale of police personnel across the country. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds, particularly in addressing health needs and supporting their families.

The commissioner also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of officers who lost their lives while serving the nation, noting that their sacrifices would not be forgotten.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to standing by its officers and their families, especially during difficult moments,” he said.

Beneficiaries who received the cheques expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General and the police leadership for the timely support, describing the gesture as a demonstration of care and concern for those who risk their lives in service to the nation.

The Kano command reiterated its dedication to professionalism, community service, and the welfare of its personnel, while commending the Inspector-General for sustaining initiatives that support police officers and their families in times of need.
