Residents of Tsangayar Rama, a community of over 10,000 people in Jigawa State, have expressed profound gratitude following a humanitarian outreach by the wife of the state governor, Ambassador Dr. Amina Umar Namadi.

For years, community members said the area had felt neglected despite its population size, with little or no meaningful intervention from previous administrations.

However, hope was rekindled during a recent visit by the First Lady, who distributed relief materials including bags of rice, pasta, cooking oil, and clothing to vulnerable households.

The residents described the gesture as unprecedented in their history, praising both Ambassador Dr. Amina Umar Namadi and her husband, Governor Umar Namadi, for remembering their community. Many noted that the intervention would significantly ease hardship, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dr. Amina Umar Namadi reaffirmed the commitment of the Jigawa State Government to equitable development, stressing that the administration does not discriminate in delivering the dividends of democracy. She explained that the outreach formed part of broader efforts to cushion the economic challenges faced by vulnerable families during Ramadan.

In a show of appreciation, community leaders and residents pledged their continued support for the governor’s administration and declared their intention to back the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Also addressing the gathering, Dr. Builder Muhammad Uba, Chairman of Birnin Kudu Local Government Area, commended the First Lady for her compassion and dedication to grassroots development. He described the outreach as a reflection of the administration’s people-centered approach to governance.

Ambassador Dr. Amina Umar Namadi further assured residents of ongoing efforts to facilitate voter card registration, urging them to actively participate in the democratic process to strengthen inclusive governance across the state.
