Hajiya Sa’adatu Salisu Soja, Chairperson of Tudun Wada Local Government Area, has formally resigned her membership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
In a resignation letter dated 23 January 2026, Hajiya Soja said her decision was guided by her commitment to align with the political direction of her leader, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, and to support his development agenda for the state.
She expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the NNPP for the cooperation and support she received during her time in the party, stressing that her resignation was taken in good faith and without any form of ill will.
Political observers view her exit as part of a growing wave of defections that has continued to weaken the NNPP’s presence in Kano State, as several key political figures reposition themselves in line with Governor Yusuf’s emerging political platform.
