The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the official closure of payment draft collection for the 2026 Hajj exercise. Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, confirmed that the deadline for payment deposits elapsed on Friday, 5th December 2025.

Speaking during a meeting with key stakeholders in Kano, Danbappa clarified that no extension was approved following the Board’s engagement with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in Abuja last Thursday.
“After our meeting with NAHCON, it was confirmed that the deadline stands. There will be no extension,” he stated.

He explained that the early closure was necessary due to new guidelines introduced by Saudi authorities for the 2026 Hajj, emphasizing that the updated rules demand earlier finalization of administrative procedures.
“These new regulations require strict compliance and timely processing to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj experience for all intending pilgrims,” the Director General added.

Danbappa reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing efficient services and ensuring all registered pilgrims meet the international standards set for the pilgrimage.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, commended stakeholders for their continuous support. He encouraged intending pilgrims who have already fulfilled the requirements to remain calm as preparations advance to the next stage.
“We appreciate everyone’s cooperation, and we urge pilgrims who have completed their payments to be patient as we move forward with the necessary arrangements,” he said.
