Nigeria at 65: Kano Govt. Announces Series of Events for Independence Day

In preparation for the forthcoming independence day celebration,Kano State government has mapped out chain of activities starting this coming Saturday 27th September,where a series of Parade rehearsals are going to be observed

Equally the rehearsal would continue on Monday next week at Sani Abacha Stadium, in a communication issued by the Chairman of the Planning Committee.

The Communication further revealed that there would be a Public Lecture on the same Monday 29th September by Nine o’clock in the morning at the Coronation Hall, Government House,Kano.

Where as this year’s Theme is “strengthening National Security through Unity and development.

And the first Lecture is going to be delivered by the Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs,Comrade Abdullahi Waiya, titled “Community-led Security Solutions: Combating Drugs and Criminality Through the Kano Safer Corridor Initiative.
While the second Paper is going to be presented by by the Resident Electoral Commissioner on “Civic Participation as a Tool for National Progress:The power of your Vote.

The Third Paper will be delivered by Professor Muhammad Babangida of the Department of Islamic Studies, Bayero University,Kano titled “Youth as Catalyst for Unity and National Development.

A seasoned Administrator of International reputations and a retired Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service,Alhaji Gidado Muktar is going to be the Chairman of the Occasion,the Communication revealed.

Similarly on the same day there would be a Football Novelty match in the evening at Sani Abacha Stadium between Personnel of Security Agencies in the State and the repentant thugs as a mark of unity in celebrating the 65th Independence Anniversary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

On the following day Tuesday,30th September,as revealed by the Chairman of Planning Committee Inuwa Idris Yakasai,there would be Unity road walk which is a unique style of celebrations,where the unity road walk would commence from Emir’s Palace,Kofar Kudu to Government House round about from eight in the morning to ten o’clock in the morning.

To capped it up,there would be a unique and flamboyant Independence Parade on Wednesday 1st October,2025 at prestigious Sani Abacha Stadium by eight in the morning.

Where it is expected that the Executive Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf would be the Special Guest of Honor alongside the Executive Council Members, Legislative Arm of Government and other top Management of the State government.

Equally, Members of the Private sectors, Philanthropists,Donor Agencies, Partners and Individuals are expected to grace and joined the millions of Kano People in celebrating the Independence Day of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee called on the people to be highly orderly and to cooperate with security organizations in making the celebration a memorable one.
