In a significant gesture of encouragement and recognition for outstanding achievements, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has honored two exceptional individuals with notable contributions to both education and business.

During a special ceremony held in Kano, Bashir Dalhatu, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ACF and the Wazirin Dutse, presented a cheque worth one million naira to Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, a brilliant young student from Kano who emerged as the winner of the prestigious TeenEagle Global Finals English competition held in London last month.

Dalhatu, who spoke on behalf of the ACF Kano State Chapter, praised Nafisa for her exceptional talent and her accomplishment on the global stage.

He highlighted that the donation was made in recognition of Nafisa’s remarkable success and to further inspire other young students across the region.

“This donation is not only for Nafisa, but a recognition of the potential and brilliance within our young people in Kano State,” Dalhatu said.

“Her achievement serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that with hard work and determination, our youth can achieve greatness anywhere in the world.”

Nafisa’s victory in the highly competitive global contest, which attracted talented students from around the world, has been a source of pride for the state and the country.

The ACF’s support emphasizes the forum’s commitment to promoting education and nurturing talent in the region.

In addition to celebrating Nafisa’s achievement, Dr. Goni Farouk Umar, the Chairman of the ACF Kano Chapter, took the opportunity to recognize another extraordinary individual Farouk Gumel.

The Nigerian businessman, who was recently appointed as the chairman of Botswana’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, received an award of recognition from ACF for his groundbreaking achievements in business and his leadership across Africa.

Dr. Umar commended Gumel as a trailblazer, noting his unwavering faith in God and his patriotism. “At just 42 years old, Farouk Gumel is a prime example of the younger generation conquering new frontiers in business.

He has proven that with dedication and integrity, Nigerians can make significant strides on the international stage,” Dr. Umar remarked.

The award was presented to Dr. Umar, who will deliver it to Gumel at a later date. Gumel’s appointment to such a prestigious role in Botswana’s Sovereign Wealth Fund marks a significant milestone in his career and a source of inspiration for young Africans across the continent.

As part of the ceremony, Dr. Umar also announced that Zenith Bank, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, has donated a generous 5 million naira to each of the three winners of the TeenEagle Global Finals.

The bank’s support was channeled through the ACF, further emphasizing the importance of corporate sponsorship and community-driven development.

Zenith Bank’s donation, combined with the ACF’s commitment to promoting youth excellence, has proven to be an invaluable source of support for the young talents emerging from the region.

The event was a clear reflection of the ACF’s ongoing efforts to elevate the potential of youth and promote African success stories both within the continent and abroad.
