Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State on Saturday led a large contingent of supporters to the Eagle Square in Abuja for the 8th National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming the party’s readiness for the 2027 general elections.

The convention, which drew party leaders and members from across the country, marked a significant step in APC’s preparations for the upcoming polls. The governor described the gathering as peaceful, organized, and indicative of the party’s strength and unity nationwide.

Speaking at the event, Yusuf noted that the massive turnout and level of coordination demonstrated that APC remains “the biggest political party in Africa” and is firmly on course for victory in 2027. He also commended party members for their commitment and loyalty.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Government, Mustapha Muhammad, prominent political figures and stakeholders from Kano State attended the convention, signaling strong unity within the party in one of Nigeria’s most politically significant states.

A major highlight of the convention was the emergence of Nentawe Yilwatda as the new National Chairman of the party, alongside other elected national officers, following a consensus process.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to party stalwarts and supporters who traveled from different parts of the country to participate in the convention. He also prayed for their safe return to their respective states.

The outcome of the convention, he added, clearly shows that the APC is well-positioned and battle-ready for the next general elections.
