Kano, Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved a welfare package for the father of a woman and her six children brutally killed in the Chiranci Dorayi area of Kano.
The package includes sponsorship for Hajj and Umrah, a new house, and full welfare support.
This is contained in a statement issued by his Spokesperson Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa in Kano on Wednesday.
Governor Yusuf made the announcement during a condolence visit to the family, where he expressed deep sympathy and assured them of the state’s continued support.
He also directed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to fast-track the prosecution of suspects arrested in connection with the killings.
The Governor promised to sign the death warrant for any convict found guilty in the Chiranci Dorayi killings, as well as the killers of Hanifa and the Gezawa arsonists.
He commended security agencies for their swift action in arresting the suspects.
In appreciation, the bereaved father donated his personal house to the Kano State Government for the construction of an Islamiyya school.
Governor Yusuf also paid condolence visits to the families of the late Dr. Bature AbdulAziz and Baba Umar, Executive Secretary, Kano State.
