The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has extended warm festive greetings to residents of the state ahead of the annual Takutaha Maulud Celebration scheduled to commence on Tuesday, 12th September 2023.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police assured the public that robust security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a serene and hitch-free celebration across the state.
The CP stressed that the Command will not condone any form of violent behavior during the festivity, warning that thuggery (Fadan ‘Yan Daba), armed robbery, extortion, or any other criminal acts will be met with swift law enforcement action.
He noted that surveillance units and operatives have been strategically deployed, with strict directives to promptly identify, arrest, and prosecute any troublemakers in accordance with the law.
CP Bakori further called on residents to take advantage of the Maulud season to pray for sustainable peace and security, which he described as essential for the social and economic development of both Kano State and Nigeria at large.
He commended the people of Kano for their continued cooperation and reaffirmed the Police Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through designated emergency contacts.
