Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the payment of the fifth tranche of retirees’ gratuity and death benefits to beneficiaries in the state.
According to the Governor, the gesture is part of his administration’s commitment to easing the hardship faced by retired civil servants and families of deceased workers who served the state diligently.
Governor Yusuf noted that the welfare of workers, both serving and retired, remains a top priority of his government, adding that the ongoing settlement of outstanding entitlements is aimed at restoring dignity and providing financial relief to those who dedicated their lives to public Service.
Beneficiaries of this latest tranche are1,026 from five Billion Naira which have been urged to make good use of the payment for the well-being of their families.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman Kano State Pension Fund trustee Alhaji Habu Muhammad Fagge appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his continuous support toward ensuring the welfare of pensioners in the state.
He noted that the administration’s commitment to regular payment of pension and gratuities has restored confidence and dignity to retirees who have served the state meritoriously.
In his goodwill message, President Nigerian Union of Pensioners Comrade Godwin Abimisi praised Nigerian pensioners for their years of dedicated service to the nation, describing them as the backbone of the country’s workforce and national development.
