Governor Yusuf Approves ₦912m to Upgrade Vocational School into GTC in GwarzoKano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the sum of ₦912 million for the conversion of the Vocational Training School at Unguwar Riga in Gwarzo town into a Government Technical College (GTC).
The Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government, Dr. Mani Tsoho, disclosed this during an inspection visit by officials and engineers from the Kano State Ministry of Education.
In a statement issued by the Zonal Information Officer, Auwalu Musa Yola, the project was described as a landmark initiative that will expand learning opportunities for youths in Gwarzo and surrounding areas, with a focus on technical and vocational education.
Dr. Mani commended Governor Yusuf for his commitment to strengthening education and human capital development across Kano State.
“This significant investment underscores the Governor’s unwavering commitment to education and human capital development across the state,” he said.
He explained that the project will include the construction of modern classrooms, fully furnished student hostels, state-of-the-art laboratories, and residential staff quarters.
These facilities will ensure a conducive learning and teaching environment, while also raising the standard of technical education in the region.
Dr. Tsoho also described the initiative as a significant achievement that will not only benefit the people of Gwarzo but also strengthen Kano State’s position as a hub of educational excellence. He further assured the public of the local government’s full cooperation to ensure timely execution and monitoring of the project.
